From Lynette Wyrick, Multnomah County Republican Party
The PCP is THE MOST powerful position in the Republican Party. PCPs elect the delegates at the County, State & National levels who decide who represents our Party and ultimately who runs for President of the United States.
The PCP minimally attends quarterly Central Committee Meetings to discuss and vote on County Party issues. Ultimately, the
PCP volunteers for Party activities, assists our Party Candidates in their races and supports our Party Candidates by their vote.
MCRP currently can have 1600 PCPs, however we currently only have 219 PCPs. As you can see, there is lots of room for many
more of our registered Republicans to become involved, as long as the Party member has been a registered Republican for a
minimum of a 180 days. MCRP is always looking for additional PCPs, so any time is a great time to decide to become a PCP!
Once I receive a PCP appointment application, I will call to interview the applicant. If they pass my interview process, the applicants
are reviewed & approved by the MCRP Executive Committee at their monthly meeting just prior to the upcoming quarterly Central
Committee Meeting. Then the names of the approved applications are published and mailed out to the entire MCRP PCP Member
Body at least 10 days prior to the next Central Committee Meeting. The published names are then voted on at the Central Committee
Meeting and the approved PCPs applications are taken to the Multnomah County Board of Elections for final certification. Once the
new PCPs are certified, I notify them via email when they become official.
For convenience, I have attached a PCP Appointment Application to this email. If any is interested and would like to be approved at our
upcoming quarterly Central Committee Meeting on Monday, April 22nd at the airport Shilo Inn at 7:00 PM, I would need any applications
in my email inbox no later than March 29th. Any applications arriving after March 29th will be on the meeting agenda to be approved at
our July 15th Central Committee Meeting.
If anyone has any questions regarding the above or the attached, please give me a call or send me an email. If, by chance, someone does
not reside in Multnomah County, I will be happy to connect them with my counterpart in their resident County.
